Just as our skin colors differ from person to another, so does our skin tone. It can be anything from almost black to pale to even without color. Uneven skin tone will make us look dull and unhealthy; so we need to improve skin tone so that our skin color, whichever it may be, look bright, healthy and even. Your skin may become uneven and dry with age, but if you maintain the skin tone with regular care, you may look younger than you actually are.

Drink Plenty of Water

There is a reason why all health articles advocate drinking at least 8 t 10 glasses of water every day; these water will flush out all the toxins that are there in your body and thus keep the skin clear. Your skin will also not become dry because the water will hydrate your body. So to fight uneven skin tone, be sure that right amount of water is going inside your body.

Wear Sunscreen 365 Days a Year

Skin wrinkles and age spots are two results of sun exposure without any care over a period of time. Your skin becomes discoloured due to this damage and thus uneven skin tone lessens the beauty of a good skin. Your negligence of not wearing sunscreen while out in the sun may cost more than you can imagine. So if you are not in the habit of using sunscreen regularly, change the habit immediately and put on a sunscreen with SPF 15 or more when going out in the sun. Put it at least 10 minutes before you go out and if you are staying in the sun for a long period of time, reapply after every 2 hours,

Moisturize

It is a wrong idea that an acne-prone oily skin does not need any moisture. According to a report from Skin Care Physicians, when you moisturize your skin, it helps to trap water below your skin and thus make it seem more bright and young. But chose the moisturizer well; make sure it is suited for your specific skin type. For acne prone oily skin, you will need a moisturizer which is oil-free; and if your skin is dry, then try those that are created for dry skin to avoid an uneven skin tone.

Exercise and Eat Right

A diet that is rich in omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants and regular exercise that helps to circulate oxygen to your skin, will keep your skin tone healthy and even. As for foods that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, try salmon, sardines or any other cold water fish.

Exfoliate

Remove dead skin cells by exfoliating regularly. Your skin tone will become dull if you do not regularly remove these dead cells. Not only that, acne and blackheads will become a regular problem as the dead skin cells will clog your pores. You will easily find exfoliating cleansers or clothes in the nearest drug store; but be careful while using it. Do not use it roughly as that will irritate the skin instead of helping it.

Cleanse and Treat Your Skin Regularly

Your skin should not go without any kind of treatment or product for more than 12 hours, as a report from American Academy of Dermatology suggests. Sunscreen is counted as one such product. Make sure you clean the skin regularly so that dirt does not create uneven skin tone or dull your skin with dirt. This will also prevent breakouts. When you use sunscreen, you stop the problems before they really begin.
