Being a teenager is perhaps one of the best times in anyone’s life. But skin wise, this is not the best of the times! Teenagers and some adults are susceptible to the problems of clogged pores which lead to the problem of acne. The problem of such pores can solely be laid on the hormones which go on the overdrive when one is a teenager. Due to your hormones, the production of sebum, the oil that keeps your skin and hair supple and soft by moisturizing it, gets a boost. But as too much of a good thing is bad, this overproduction of sebum leads to clogged pores when bacteria or dead skin cells gets trapped inside the pores. Many skin problems arise from blocked pores like blackheads, whiteheads, nodules and pimples.

If you have sensitive skin on top of that, it becomes really hard to stop this blockage of pores without causing irritation to your skin. That is why it is very important that you choose a mild cleanser to thoroughly clean your skin and then moisturize it properly with a moisturizer that does not have fragrances or any kind of harsh chemicals. You will need two items in this regard; an oil-free facial cleanser and am oil-free facial lotion that has benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid in it. Now here is a detail instruction on how to properly clean clogged pores from your sensitive skin:

Start by first gently splashing your face with water. Do not use cold or hot water but warm water for best result.

Now pour about a dime-sized oil-free cleanser or lotion on your hand and use gentle circular motions with your fingers to wash your face with the cleanser. You can also use a damp soft washcloth instead of your finger. In that case, pour the cleanser on the cloth instead of your hand. Always remember not to scrub your face with the washcloth as scrubbing can irritate your sensitive skin.

To rinse off the cleanser from your face, use another wet washcloth. Clean your face gently yet thoroughly until all traces of cleansers are removed from your face.

Now pat dry your face with a soft, clean towel. Don’t rub vigorously as that can irritate your sensitive skin.

To make sure no more clogged pores bother you in future, apply the oil-free moisturizer that has benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid in it. This lotion will keep your skin moisturized.

Remember to clean your face in this way for two times a day. Do it once in the morning and once before going to bed.

As for moisturizing your skin, it is best to do it once at the beginning and see how your skin is reacting to it. Then increase it to twice a day which will prevent your skin from becoming over-dry or irritated.
